Coffee is the fuel that sustains a lot of us through our busy days. So coffee shops are our church! None more so than the Creatives here at CMA. So, naturally, our coffee-bean connoisseurs are always keen to sniff out the best coffee spots around Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Lincolnshire.

For myself, as CMA’s resident certified and time-served Master Barista, I think the quality of the service matters just as much as the quality of the beans. Every coffee cafe mentioned here gets five stars from me – so, get ready to experience the best flavours of your local Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Lincolnshire coffee shops.

A great Lincolnshire coffee shop is BB’s. They have the passion and expertise that means they’ve now grown to 63 Bakers + Baristas stores across the UK and Ireland. With their ever-changing seasonal offers and loyalty cards for free muffins and drinks, what’s not to love?

Tucked away at the end of Bailgate, Coffee by the Arch is one of the most welcoming coffee shops in Lincoln. With the bonus of being four-legged friendly, it’s ideal for dog lovers who need a midday pick-me-up. This bustling café always packs a punch with their espresso and variety of cakes.

Hideout Café

Discover Hideout Cafe as you stroll down scenic Sea View Street. Hideout is known for its high quality and unmistakable velvety coffee. Their outstanding secret blend of beans delights us every time. Treat yourself to some Appleby’s ice cream whilst you’re there too!

“Customers have become like family and some just want to Hideout which is perfectly fine too. Whichever you choose, you are welcome to enjoy the coffee, food and company.”

– Joanne Wood Cowan, owner of Hideout

The Globe

This one-of-a-kind cafe is all about coffee and books – the perfect duo. Not only does it serve incredible coffee, but there’s a real cultural community there. This quaint establishment hosts book signings, poetry readings and a writers’ group. You can even browse for books to add to your collection whilst you sip your favourite beverage. Also, an odd thing to note about a coffee shop, but they do a world-class cup o’ tea!

The Potting Shed

Whilst enjoying a browse around Grimsby Garden Centre, if a sudden craving for a cappuccino or a homemade Victoria sponge may arise, this is the place to go. Not only notable for their traditional fish and chips and their Sunday carvery, its incredible work providing training and employment to people from disadvantaged backgrounds and individuals with mental health difficulties is outstanding. Even more, their profits go back into local mental health services.
